Area

Layout

The Area block serves as a visual grouping area on the canvas. It allows you to organize blocks logically and apply a background color to visually distinguish different parts of your diagram. It has no functional impact on the simulation or block execution.

Usage Examples

Grouping Subsystems

You can use an Area block with a light blue background to surround all blocks related to a specific subsystem, like "Motor Control Logic", and use the Note parameter to label it accordingly.

Remarks & Best Practices

  • The Area block is fully resizable using the drag handles on the canvas.
  • Blocks placed inside the boundary of an Area move when the Area itself is moved.
  • It is a "frameless" grouping tool, distinct from structural blocks like Subsystem.

Related Components

  • TextNote: For adding frameless text annotations to the diagram.
  • Subsystem: For encapsulating blocks into reusable functional units.
