BlockWerk Guides

Analyzing Simulation Results

The Analysis Panel provides post-run and live signal inspection. It gives you time-series charts, statistical summaries, and data export — all in one place.

Opening the Analysis Panel

Open the Analysis Panel from the toolbar or via View > Analysis. It docks alongside the canvas. Use the expand button to switch to full-screen mode for a better view of complex charts.

Selecting Signals

The Signal Selector on the left lists all available block outputs organized by block. Check the signals you want to visualize. Each selected signal is assigned a colour and added to the chart area.

  • Signals from uPlotDisplay and NumericDisplay blocks are available by default.
  • You can select outputs from any connected block that produces a numeric signal.

Chart Layout

By default, each selected signal gets its own subplot. Use the subplot controls in the toolbar to merge signals onto a shared axis for direct comparison.

  • Zoom: Scroll inside a chart to zoom the time axis. Double-click to reset.
  • Pan: Drag inside a chart to pan along the time axis.
  • Zooming and panning on one subplot does not affect the others.

Statistics

Below each chart, BlockWerk displays a statistics row for the selected signal:

  • Min / Max: Minimum and maximum values over the visible time range.
  • Mean: Time-averaged value.
  • Std Dev: Standard deviation, indicating how much the signal varies.

Live Updates

The Analysis Panel updates in real time while a simulation is running. You can open it before starting a run and watch signals build up as the simulation progresses.

Exporting Data

Click the Export button in the Analysis toolbar to download the current chart data as a CSV file. The file contains a time column and one column per selected signal, ready for import into spreadsheet or data analysis tools.

Tip: Use the Analysis Panel alongside uPlotDisplay blocks on the canvas. The panel is better for post-run inspection and statistics; uPlotDisplay gives you a live view directly on the diagram.
